Experienced Building Surveyor needed for a Social Housing provider based in West Sussex, they have 10,000 customers in the Sussex coastal area. Provide affordable rented homes, key worker accommodation, low-cost shared ownership, sheltered housing and new homes for local people.
Required to provide a high-quality building surveying service to support the management and maintenance of the organisation's assets.
Organise planned maintenance, major repairs and cyclical programs of work as required.
Prepare specifications, schedules of works, drawings and cost estimates in accordance with standing orders. To obtain tenders, prepare contract documentation and undertake contract administration as required.
Carry out quantity surveying duties i.e. Preparation of cost estimates, checking interim valuations, agreeing cost variations and approval of final accounts.
Liaise with customers and adjoining owners as necessary and arrange access for the works and detail the work to be undertaken; and to maintain contact with customers dealing with day-to-day queries and obtaining feedback to provide a high standard of customer care.
Undertake high level contract management of all maintenance contracts including long term planned, responsive and cyclical (servicing) contracts.
Carry out inspections of works in progress and completion to ensure all works are in accordance with agreed standards and to a high quality.
Obtain fee quotations, appoint and manage from specialist external consultants to assist with the delivery of the maintenance programme.
Undertake feasibility studies as and when required, take record photographs and prepare sketch drawings as necessary.
Undertake property condition surveys.
Assist with the preparation of the annual planned maintenance programme.
Assist the asset compliance coordinators with updating the stock condition database by providing information of completed works.
